The 3rd China-ASEAN Business & Investment Summit Invitation

The China-ASEAN Business & Investment Summit (hereafter referred to as ¡°Summit¡±) is the highest level meeting among Chinese and ASEAN business circles. At the opening ceremony of the 1st Summit held in 2004, state leaders from China and ASEAN Countries, including H.E. Madam Wu Yi, Vice Premier of the State Council of China, H.E. Mr. Samdech Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, H.E. Mr. Bounnhang Vorachith, Prime Minister of the Lao People¡¯s Democratic Republic, H.E. Mr. Lt-Gen Soe Win, Prime Minister of the Union of Myanmar, H.E. Mr. Phinij Jarusombu, Vice Prime Minister of Thailand and H.E. Mr. Pham Gia Khiem, Vice Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, delivered keynote speeches. Other government leaders and entrepreneurs actively took part in the forum and held in-depth discussions on the theme of ¡°Promoting Mutually Beneficial Cooperation and Seeking for Common Development,¡± and great progress was made in furthering the construction of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area (CAFTA).

The 3rd Summit, co-sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People¡¯s Republic of China, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and People¡¯s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, will be held in Nanning, Guangxi, China from Oct.31 to Nov.1, 2006. The theme of Summit is ¡°China and the ASEAN Countries: Market Opening and Exploring.¡± Government and business leaders from China and ASEAN Countries leaders, will attend the Summit. Participants to the Summit will be able to gain a better understanding of the economic policies of China and ASEAN Countries, and to make contacts with business leaders from these countries, and expand field of cooperation.

The 3rd Summit will be held simultaneously with the 3rd China-ASEAN Expo, and participants will enjoy the privilege to attend the Expo and other related events such as the Nanning International Festival of Folk Songs and Arts.

For the further strengthening of economic cooperation between China and ASEAN Countries, we cordially request the presence of one of the senior leaders of your esteemed organization/company at the Summit.
